Playa Punta Popy, Las Terrenas
Kite Surf
On the Samana peninsula about 150 kms from Cabarete in the Dominican Republic (therefore north of the Dom RepRep Dom), is the kite' spot of Las Terrenas.
The spot receives winds from 10 to 20 knots and offers a translucent and shallow body of water, ideal for kiting.
If you travel between December and mid-March, you may have the chance to see whales in the bay of Samana, where they meet every year for the mating season.

Whales Watching
From December to March, humpback whales travel from the cold waters of the North Atlantic to the bay of Samana, in the Dominican Republic at the end of their gestation period in order to give birth there. Fabulous spectacle guaranteed. Transfer from the hotel to Samana to take the boat, stop on the island of Cayo Levantado on the way back then return to Las Terrenas in the early afternoon.

Los Haitises, Dominican Republic

Covering an area of 1,600 km², Los Haitises National Park is one of the jewels of the Dominican Republic's national park system. Los Haitises, which translates to “mountainous land” in the Taino language, attracts many visitors who come here by boat to see its magnificent series of rock formations that rise out of the water. The park also has lush mangroves along its bay, which is adorned with keys home to multiple colonies of birds and a series of caves known for having the largest number of petroglyphs and pictographs in the country.
